Hey @missveronicatv,
can you please tell me your settings of 404page? I’ve just installed it and set up a custom 404 page, but the inline upload is still working like expected. No image is going to disappear, even after editing a post.
Yes, now I found the critical setting for the 404page plugin:
Turning on “Activate Compatibility Mode” will not display edited posts images
Turned off “Activate Compatibility Mode” images are displayed after editing.
If you are using a theme or plugin that modifies the WordPress Template System, the 404page plugin may not work properly. Compatibility Mode maybe can fix the problem. Activate Compatibility Mode only if you have any problems.
Using this setting to avoid problems resulted in another problem.
Hey @missveronicatv,
I’m still not able to reproduce this error.
What theme are you using?
And did you also try to deactivate all other plugins?
More testing now with the 2020 theme and these plugins:
404page – your smart custom 404 error page Version 11.3.0
Asgaros Forum Version 1.15.9
Really Simple SSL Version 4.0.8 to keep SSL
Toolbox for Asgaros Forum Version 1.2.4
Elementor Version 3.1.1 https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/elementor/
With Elementor inactive I can edit the toolbox post and keep display of the image with the 404page Activate Compatibility Mode both on and off.
With Elementor active the 404page Activate Compatibility Mode must be off to show edited post image
Hey @missveronicatv,
this problem also appears if you just add an image in asgaros forum without the inline image upload function. Either 404page or Elementor is changing the URL of the image by adding additional double-quotes. That is causing that the browser is not able to load the image anymore. I guess it is caused by 404page, but it is just a guess.
Sorry that I can’t help you any further here, but you will have to contact the support of Elementor or 404page.
