My guess is that your theme or another plugin on your site is using a bootstrap version that conflicts with the bootstrap version used by the plugin.
I will be releasing an update shortly that makes it possible to disable the bootstrap version used by the plugin in favour of the one used by the theme. However the plugin would only work if the theme uses a version of bootstrap not older than 5.0.0x.
After the release, I would update this ticket with the procedure on how to disable the plugin’s bootstrap files.
Thanks so much! An update for how to do that sounds great!

Please update the plugin to the latest version and follow this tutorial to disable the plugin’s bootstrap files.

That didn’t help. Unfortunately, now the entire plugin doesn’t work. Any ideas why?
I’ve updated the plugin on this website and added the code you recommended:

If disabling the plugin bootstrap code didn’t work and you followed the instructions properly, then it is not a bootstrap related issue.
Can you try using the plugin with another theme such as storefront? If everything works then it is a theme issue.
It worked great until something changed after 2.5.3
Does that help?
I was just looking over what wasn’t working, and I’ve realized that wherever either woocommerce pages are or the wishlist, that’s when the dropdown menus don’t work properly (either on a desktop or a phone). If you navigate to the home page, everything works again. Does that help with figuring out what is making this not work?
I now don’t have any code included on the website (I’ve tried with and without it and it doesn’t make a difference), just the updated plugin. Again, you can see everything at this website address: mudhenmamabookfairs.com
Something else – I’ve noticed that when I update anything via the Customize link, everything works fine. But when I go to the live website, I have the same problems with the drop down menus. Any idea why the difference?? Please let me know.
I have gone back and forth with the theme designers of my website and this was their response (the paragraph below). I’m not sure what to do at this point – I’m hoping something can possibly be modified on the plugin??
In this case, if the suggestion on disabling the BootStrap JS is not what you intend to have in place, I’m afraid there is not much we can do about this. The code provided in their docs should yield the same results as my suggestion on disabling the plugins’ BootStrap script but it definitely does seem to work. The main issue here is that your plugin is using Bootstrap v5.0.2 files but our theme is using customized BootStrap files of which we do not intend to change since this would mean that some theme components would not work as expected. In this regard, I would once again still recommend that you consult the plugins’ support team to assist you in disabling the plugins’ BootStrap files. They should be in a position to properly assist you with this since they are better acquainted with the plugin. We are not in a position to offer much guidance on this since this is a third-party plugin.

I have already provided you the answer to this issue which is that you need to switch your theme but you keep coming back in the hope that the conflict can be resolved with the theme.
Based on your answer, you have confirmed that your theme authors are using a customized version of bootstrap. This is the core problem. That they didn’t mention what version of bootstrap they were using even though they mentioned mine should tell you everything you need to know.
I suspect your theme uses bootstrap 3 and in such case even the tutorial on disabling my plugin’s bootstrap files would not work for you. The only solution is to switch theme or change plugin. As the theme authors cannot change their bootstrap files just for my plugin you should understand that I cannot change my plugin’s bootrap files just for your theme. Something has to give.
Thank you for responding back. And yes, I was just hoping for a general resolution. I am not a web designer, so I was hoping that this could be resolved if there was more clarity from the theme and/or from the plugin. But apparently, this is much more complicated. I had no idea.
If I were to upgrade the plugin (i.e. to the paid plugin), would that resolve the issue? The way this plugin is designed is exactly what I need, so that’s why I am asking. If not, I’ll have to try and find another one. I’m sure there’s something else that can work, but I’m familiar with this one, so that’s why I keep reaching out.
Thanks for your time. Sorry for this being so long and drawn out.

Upgrading to the paid version of the plugin would not solve the issue. Unfortunately either the theme or the plugin has to give way.
