Top posts and pages (jetpack) error

    I’am using the top posts & pages widget on my WordPress site , and there are a few things i would like to bring to your notice.

    1) it says in the widget box “Maximum number of posts to show (no more than 10)” so when i entered 10 as the number it only shows 8 , instead of 10. since it specifies no more than 10 so 10 should be the limit instead only 8 are visible on my site ? i have around 5000 posts .

    2) why cant the limit be exceeded? like instead of having only 10 set why cant we add more number of posts to the list?
