Can you please check if open tracking isn’t disabled for Email Subscribers settings? You should be able to find the setting in Email Subscribers > Settings > General.
And while creating broadcast, we also give an option to enable/disable open tracking for each campaign.
Also to track open counts, Email Subscribers adds a tracking image in each email. It may be possible that images are blocked in your subscriber’s email settings which affects tracking opens count.
Let us know if it isn’t working as expected even after configuring it correctly. We will have to look into it then.

Thank you for your reply! It helped a lot to understand what were the problems.
1) You need to click ‘Display images below’ (especially on Gmail) to be counted as ‘opend’ after you receive a newsletter.
2) It doesn’t work if the website is under Basic access authentication.
Now I confirmed open tracking works well when displaying images on the sent mail and disabling Basic access authentication.
