To analyze the performance of AdSense Auto Ads, I recommend navigating to your AdSense account > Ads and clicking on the report icon behind the listed website that you want to analyze.
You will see a rudimentary report there that will show you the main metrics of your manually and automatically injected AdSense ads. On the top of the screen, you will find options to customize the report (Break down by). Add “Ad format” here, and AdSense will show you the data that you ask for.

Thank you, Joachim, but that’s not what I was looking for. I was looking for a way to track AdSense clicks as events in Google Analytics. Tracking Events in GA will let me create custom audiences based on ad click behaviors.

I noticed that you reached out directly to our support channel and replied to your email there.
The short form of my answer is that tracking auto ads is not possible like this. And that it gets even more complicated when differentiating between the different auto ads ad types here.
In this case, I see only manually embedded AdSense ads as a solution, although this does not work with the vignette ads ad type, but with anchor ads.
