Hello Simon,
no, not at the moment. This topic comes up from time to time, but has never gotten a high priority, since we always felt that the Actions -> Outbound Links report should be sufficient enough. It’s listing all links and services in the form
www.facebook.com
/sharer/sharer.php?u=http://MY-DOMAIN.COM/MY-POST-TITLE
/sharer/sharer.php?u=http://MY-DOMAIN.COM/ANOTHER-POST-TITLE
www.xing.com
/social_plugins/share?url=http://MY-DOMAIN.COM/MY-POST-TITLE
/social_plugins/share?url=http://MY-DOMAIN.COM/ANOTHER-POST-TITLE
and so on, with clicks and unique clicks as well as more detailed stats per link on a secondary click.
The link tracking is normally enabled by default, as long _paq.push([‘enableLinkTracking’]); is set, and doesn’t require an on onclick event. In the end, the share buttons are nothing more than static outbound links.
Is there anything special you would like to track, that is not covered by the default outbound link tracking?
Cheers,
JP
Hello JP,
thank you for your answer. I a) just hadn’t the idea to use the outbound link report and b) wanted to set individual names for the clicks to have them easier set up in targets.
But for the moment that is good working for me with the outbound link report and using them like they are for targets.
Thank you for your help and a great plugin!
Simon
