Transfer aborted. Link to file server lost

    Suddenly, an error has appeared on many sites. The log reads:

    Transfer aborted. Link to file server lost

    It seems that unchecking the explicit ssl connection fixes the problem. However, we’ve never had this issue before, and we haven’t changed the FTP server. Any ideas?

    While I like the plugin very much, it is getting more and more annoying that errors appear out of the blue after months of perfect functionality.

    this clearly a network issue, I can make sure that you will get that kind of FTP issue randomly even you changed to other plugins.

    It doesn’t seem randomly to me. After unchecking the explicit ssl option, the issue is usually gone. However, I will re-enable the option and keep you posted.
