.ORG does not host any sites – you have to set up hosting first in order to move to a self-hosted site.
so if I just transfer through to a hosting site, will I still have all the benefits of ww.wp.xz.cn, or am I stuck with the limited options that wordpress.com provides because thats where it came from?
The difference between WordPress.com, WordPress, and ww.wp.xz.cn
Self-hosting gives you more options in terms of themes and plugins, etc.
When you move to a self-hosted site, you have complete freedom to do whatever you want with your site :). (Some hosting companies may have restrictions but unless you have a huge site, tons of traffic or content that is “questionable” or illegal, that should not be a factor.) Your site won’t have any leftover .COM “restrictions.”
ok so tranferring to ww.wp.xz.cn would be a step I don’t need to take right?
You CAN’T transfer to .ORG – we don’t host sites :).
ok got it, Thanks for all your help!
