We are seeing a ton of transients being created with values like “200” and “404” that seem(?) to have increased greatly over the past few weeks. The timeout value on them is typically very short (5 min).

Is the Redirection plugin creating these?
Did something change recently that would cause the number of transients in the options table to increase significantly?
    Is this expected behavior?

What do the transients look like exactly? Redirection doesn’t use transients itself, but I don’t know about indirectly.

    They look like this:

    Name: _transient_a0486c0d1cxxxxxxxxxxc353831b7053
    Expires In: 1503004238
    Value: 200

    Name: _transient_f4f0ce804d8bdc2xxxxxxxxxx0a53f5f
    Expires In: 1503004204
    Value: 404

    etc.

Yeah, I’m not seeing anything like that. This is not being caused by Redirection itself, and the only function it uses to achieve redirects is wp_redirect
