Hey there @marvin1986,
From my experience (of translating nearly everything into Polish language) it’s easily done with Loco Translate plugin.
“that plugin seems not to recognize content control very well” what exactly do you mean? I just had a look on my website… Loco Translate sees this plugin on a plugins list with no problem, I am able to add languages, and it recognises 102 strings ready for translation.
- Content Control in Loco Translate
- Adding German language translation
- Strings in sample Polish translation
Have you tried updating your plugins and clearing cache? Perhaps that’s where the issue might be?
Best of luck!

Okay, after trying to fully translate it, I know there are certain strings missing in the translation template file.
I synced the original template and it added 2 strings, 104 in total.
Despite me reaching 100% of the Polish translation, some strings are simply missing in the pot file.
Dear creators and contributors, update your translation template file please.
Some screenshots that may be useful:
- Here’s my current state of translating the template file provided with your plugin
- Here are 3 strings that are clearly missing
- Another one that is missing
Thank you for helping and assisting us!

@jacekpoleszak, @marvin1986 – If you guys are planning to translate the plugin for your own sites into those languages, could we by chance get you to instead contribute that to the entire community via Glotpress? If so then everyone will get them via auto update when they need them.

I believe you can upload a po file if you can export from your dashboard. Further if your interested we have a few other plugins that we offer for free to those who help us maintain translations: Popup Maker, Ahoy, User Menus (pro version coming).
That said patches already committed to get those missing strings accounted for. Will take a quick run over the code to see if we missed anything else along the way as well.
