I want to remove the highlighted image that appears inside the post and the page?
But I also need the featured image to share the page and the posts on social networks.

Please go to Appearance >> Customize >> Additional CSS and add following CSS to hide highlighted image at page/post detail page.
.single .featured-thumb,
.page .featured-thumb {
display: none;
}
To add custom image for social sharing like facebook and twitter, you can use plugin which allow you to upload image for that particular post/page. Yoast SEO plugin is best example of such plugin.

You can go to Appearance >> Widgets and find eC-Gem: CTA or eC-Gem: Advertisement widgets.
Click on them and upload image for background. Please select full size image while you assign background for these widgets.

Both these widgets are full responsive. If you do not find your site or any section responsive, please provide us your site URL and screenshot. We will check it and provide you proper solution.

This is the link with the non-responsive widget image. In this link is also the url of the site.
In the notebook image it appears whole. But as the screen changes, the image gets cut off
