Translating child theme

I need help to translate the theme.

I’m using a child theme and tried without success to get translations working. I edited the files with PoEdit but the changes didn’t make effect.

I tried the following files:
/wp-content/themes/ward/library/languages/ward.po (and .mo)
/wp-content/themes/ward/library/languages/ward-pt_BR.po (and .mo)
/wp-content/themes/ward_child/library/languages/ward.po (and .mo)
/wp-content/themes/ward_child/library/languages/ward-pt_BR.po (and .mo)

I appreciate any help or tips!
