Translating using translate.ww.wp.xz.cn doesn’t work

    It seems this plugin is using markup-by-attribute as it’s textdomain, but the plugin slug is markup-by-attribute-for-woocommerce. For language packs to work, and automatically updated independently of the plugin itself, the two strings must be exactly the same, according to Plugin Handbook.

    By renaming the language pack files and copying them to the plugins/markup-by-attribute-for-woocommerce/languages dir, I made the translations work. But hey will be lost after the next plugin update.

    Translations are not my long suit. Thanks for this information.

    They’ve been working for me and others, but that’s probably a fluke. I’ll look into making corrections on my end right away.

    I want to openly thank you for pointing me to https://translate.ww.wp.xz.cn. I wrote this plugin as a sort of hobby because a friend of mine needed the functionality in his WooCommerce shop. When I made it openly available, I had no idea the appeal it would have.

    After exploring a little further, I decided to change the language of my test site to ‘Norsk Bokmål’. Imagine my surprise when WordPress downloaded a Bokmål translation for my little pet project!

    Markup by Attribute now uses translations correctly, and I will be studying how to best support them going forward.

    Which, frankly, is something I never dreamed I’d have to think about when I wrote the code for a friend.
