    Hi

Below the player there is the following text and link labels:

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

With the help of loco translate I could create language files, and in this I found “Podcast”, and could translate that. I also found “Play in new window”, but the translated sentence did not display on frontend. I did not found the label “Download” in the language file.

So – how do I translate these link labels:

    Play in a new window
    Download

I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

I’ve asked the Blubrry dev team to look at your question. I’ll post another message as soon as I get something back from them.

Here’s what the dev team had to say about your question:

We looked into this a couple years ago. We couldn’t figure out why some of the text doesn’t translate, but added variables as a patch so that users can directly edit what prints out for these strings. The variables this person will want to use are POWERPRESS_PLAY_IN_NEW_WINDOW_TEXT and POWERPRESS_DOWNLOAD_TEXT – in wp-config.php, simply define these variables as the translated string.
The following variables can be set in the wp-config file to change the text that powerpress prints:

POWERPRESS_LINKS_TEXT (this one’s default text is ‘Podcast’–all others have default text that matches what’s in the variable name)
    POWERPRESS_DURATION_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_PLAY_IN_NEW_WINDOW_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_DOWNLOAD_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_PLAY_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_EMBED_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_READ_TEXT

I don’t understand…. is the solution for me to upload a bunch of text to wp-config?

POWERPRESS_LINKS_TEXT (this one’s default text is ‘Podcast’–all others have default text that matches what’s in the variable name)
    POWERPRESS_DURATION_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_PLAY_IN_NEW_WINDOW_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_DOWNLOAD_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_PLAY_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_EMBED_TEXT
    POWERPRESS_READ_TEXT

How will this text translate, just because its added to wp-config?

Wouldn’t it be easier to use proper language files in the proper way? Or add an option in the plugin settings to change the text strings there…?
