Hi Glados,

thanks for using MH Squared lite and we’re happy that you like the theme.

To translate the theme, you can simply take the mh-squared-lite.pot file which is located in the /languages folder of the theme and then translate everything into your language.

After you’ve translated everything, you need to save the file as cs_CZ.po and you’ll then also get a file cs_CZ.mo. These two files need to be placed in the /languages folder of the theme (not WordPress).

In the last step you need to ensure that the language in WordPress is set to your language, you can do this in your WordPress dashboard under “Settings => General”.

After you’ve performed these steps properly, the theme will be displayed in your language out of the box. This also might be helpful: How to translate a WordPress theme.

Hard to say why your translation isn’t working as it should. But as mentioned before, if everything is done correctly, the translation will work out of the box.

For example the theme has already included a translation file for German language. If you switch your WordPress installation to German language, you’ll notice that the translation works without any issues.

That means the problem is either related to your translation files itself or anything else within your environment. If you’re running caching plugins, you also might want to clear all caches and in general you could test what happens if you disable your plugins.
