    Hi Kadence Themes,

    I’m using wp4.1 linux_x64 in French language (fr_FR in config.php) with
latest free Virtue theme 2.3.3. Thanks for this great job.

On my blog page the number of comments appearing below each post excerpt
is in English, not in French, like that :

‘2 Comments’ instead of ‘2 Commentaires’

Where things become weird is when I click on the hyperlink
‘2 Comments’ which unfolds the comments, the titles there appear in French, like for instance : ‘Poster un nouveau commentaire’.

Even more weird, when I poedit the ‘fr_FR.po’ file in
the theme language directory, I can see that ‘Comment’ in English is correctly translated to ‘Commentaire’.

    Missing something here ?
    Thanks.

  • Hey,
The strings for that part were recently added to the theme, It’s possible you just need to update the po file and check for new strings. If your using po edit you should be able to click update and see if it works then,

    Kadence Themes

In the po file may be two different pleadings one for singular and one for plural. You wrote that comment is correct but not comments.
I discovered it when I translated into Swedish.

    Hi,

    @Kadence Themes
po file updated. Bad luck, does not work.

    Any other idea ?

    @seise
Singular and plural forms both fail in the hyperlink. When I click
on the hyperlink then everything is translated within the comment box header.

    Thanks

Can you post a link so I can see exactly where your talking about.

    Hey,
    I see “Commentaire”?

On the bottom of the post page right?

    Hi,

I have just posted a fake comment.
On the home page, “1 Comment” appears bottom left of the post excerpt, not “1 Commentaire”, no?

    Thanks.

Maybe your using caching? I can’t see 1 comment or 1 Commentaire. Can you clear your site cache?

    Hi,

I had removed the comment for other tests. It’s back in place now.
    Sorry about that.

What happens when you add a second to that post. There is a string that is “1 comment” have you checked for it?

    (@lthais)

If you add a second comment, “1 Comment” turns to “2 Comments”.

    – In the po file, the string ‘1 Comment’ is strangely tranlated as ‘Commentaire’, without the ‘1’.

    – Just below it :
‘% Comment’ is also translated as ‘Commentaire’, without the ‘%’.

    Thanks,
    L.

    Got it.
    I translated ‘1 Comment’ to ‘1 Commentaire’ (added the ‘1 ‘)
and ‘% Comments’ to ‘% Commentaires’ (added the ‘% ‘)

    Thanks for the tip,
    L.
