    Hi,

I have made custom translations into Dutch (using Loco Translate) for a client. Since the last Masteriyo update it was messed up quite a bit. I followed the instructions to create a new language file and update it with the translated strings. When I add a new translated string, it shows up front-end. So now, on the part of Loco, it all seems to work again.

But the strange thing is that some strings remain un-translated, such as the ‘Completed’ and ‘Continue’ button texts on courses on the Courses page.

I have checked whether those strings have been replaced in the .pot file, but that seems not the case. For example, when I search in Loco for ‘Completed’ all instances have a translation. But they do not show up in Dutch front-end.

So I am very puzzled what is going on. Masteriyo uses the right translation files, but seems to leave out random strings. Can you help fixing this?

    Thanks!
    Mark

    Hi @markdeboer,

We want to let you know that the Masteriyo plugin has no translation issues. We tested the translation on our testing environment with the latest plugin version but found no problem. For your confirmation, please check the following screenshots.

Please try synchronizing the translation file using the loco translation’s sync option and check whether the issue is solved. Also, please make sure that the loco translation plugin is updated.

WordPress and Loco Translate mainly cause the problem, as they save translation files in custom locations. Please take a moment to review this forum post: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/wordpress-6-7-major-issue-loading-custom-translation-files. WordPress will release version 6.7.1, which fixes the translation issue.

    Regards!

    Hello Amrit,

It indeed seems to be the WP 6.7 bug. Thanks for pointing me to this. I will wait for the next release and hope it is fixed then.

    Hi @markdeboer,

We have found an alternative solution to resolve the translation issue.

    Method 1:

    • Access your site folder using FTP or cPanel.
    • Go to the wp-content > Plugins folder, where you’ll see a list of all the plugins.
    • Open the learning-management-system > includes folder, and locate the Masteriyo.php file.
    • Edit this file, find line number 271, and replace the code with the following:
      unload_textdomain( 'learning-management-system', true );

    Method 2:
You can also edit the plugin file directly from your WordPress dashboard. For step-by-step instructions, please refer to this screenshot guide: https://tinyurl.com/2b5ofnjb.

    I hope this helps!
