    Hi @paulcityhopper

I hope you’re doing well! Regarding the translations for the Amazon Pay plugin, we recommend that site owners take responsibility for managing them. Here’s a guide to assist with the process.

As the developers of the Amazon Pay plugin, we have not traditionally handled translations for this plugin. Below are a few reasons why site owners are best suited to manage translations:

    1. Customized Context: Site owners understand their audience and can tailor translations to match their brand’s tone, terminology, and regional nuances, ensuring a seamless user experience.
    2. Specific Needs: Each website may have unique requirements for translations, such as industry-specific terms or localized phrasing, which site owners are best positioned to address.
    3. Control and Flexibility: By managing translations, site owners can quickly update or adjust text to align with their site’s content, marketing strategies, or regional regulations.
    4. Community Translation Gaps: While the WordPress community often contributes translations via translate.ww.wp.xz.cn, the Amazon Pay plugin has not historically received community translations, making it more efficient for site owners to handle this directly.
    5. Ease of Tools: Tools like Loco Translate or WPML allow site owners to easily create and manage translations without requiring developer intervention, saving time and resources.

If you need assistance setting up translations or have questions about the process, please let us know—we’re happy to help!

    Best regards,
    Christian

    Hey @paulcityhopper ,

From your first screenshot, I see that you need to click on “New Language.” If you want to do your own translations or “Upload PO” to use the ones that you can export from https://translate.ww.wp.xz.cn/projects/wp-plugins/woocommerce-gateway-amazon-payments-advanced/. You can even export your translations without waiting for approval and upload them using “Loco Translate”

This was done by the community; we don’t maintain those translations nor approve them. For third-party plugins like Amazon Pay for WooCommerce, approvals rely on volunteer editors rather than the plugin developers (e.g., WooCommerce or Amazon). If no dedicated editors are active for a locale, suggestions may remain in “Waiting” status longer, as seen in the document’s table

I just saw that you added 5 translations in German to the Japanese translations. Perhaps you would like to add them to the German Language.

Let me know if you need help to use “Loco Translate” plugin, happy to help you!

    Best,
    Christian

    Hey@paulcityhopper ,

Since we haven’t heard back from the OP in a while, I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Best,
    Christian
