Transparent background

Hi

Ran into a weird problem. The background is transparent even though i changed it to white #fff.

I’ve added background color to the text. Explaining the stripes.

Another thing with the background color is that the fixed positioned social has a black background under home but doesn’t work in blog or the other pages.

Can somebody help me?
