I’m curious why WP-Optimize reports that I have 127 posts in my trash when I only see 1 post in the trash on my dashboard. Are these posts that I permanently deleted, so that they are now invisible on my dashboard, but visible to WP-Optimize?

Most likely the explanation is that in WP’s internals, there are many things considered “posts”, not just what show on your Posts page in the dashboard. e.g. Pages, WooCommerce orders – basically all sorts of content records.

Thank you for your prompt response.

My main worry is whether it might be counting archived posts as trash. I use the
LH Archived Post Status plugin to add an archived post status option and remove archived posts from blog and archive pages, but allow users who have a direct link to still see these archived posts. I just don’t want to inadvertently delete these posts.

    Hi Dale,

I’m not familiar with that plugin – the best thing to do would be to ask its authors if it internally marks posts in the WP posts table as having a ‘trashed’ status or not.
