Tricky situation with posts/pages

Hi, I have the site http://www.ringsidedaily.com and I want the index page to simply display the news headlines and seen on there. However, when I try to make a new page (such as Contact, which has a link that is found on the upper right corner) it generates the same style as I have on my index without showing any content.

I thought there were two different files for single posts and actual pages, but the theme that I am using does not have a page.php file in it. I am thinking about just making one on my own, but how would I go about configuring it so it would work? Thanks!
