Triggering user enumeration error on WP Engine

My client is using this plugin to notify 2k users when new documents are uploaded but it seems to be triggering WP Engine security with how it’s looping the user accounts. It worked previously but we are now getting an error in the logs “attempting to enumerate users” and it fails to send. It appears the first few may have gone out before this failed.
