    You have defined your permalinks to include the category in the URLs. Have a look at the settings: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/settings-permalinks-screen/

    I assume you have set “Custom Structure” and the value /%category%/%postname%/. Change that to /%postname%/ or choose one of the options above. This would make the category disappear from the URL.

    Hi @threadi ,

    But we want the permalink to show the category but we only want 1 URL not 3. So we prefer

    [sitename].nl/[main-category]/[other-category]/[other-category]/[post-name]

    EDIT:

    We have talked and we would prefer to only have the main category in the URL and not the rest of the categories. Is this possible?

    To do this, you would have to be able to define at the post what its primary category is. I know of such a setting only with Yoast. If necessary, you could test the plugin and if you have questions about the linking of this main category, contact their support. However, I do not want to exclude that there are other, I do not know plugins that allow this.
