Trouble with installation

    My wordpress website waa working ok but now it isn’t. I can access the admin panel and the posts and pages are still there but when I try to access a page or post I get a 404 message. I don’t know what I have down – perhaps dragged and dropped a folder by mistake in dreamweaver and I don’t know how to undo it. Any advice gratefully received. Best wishes, normanb.

    If you are using permamlinks, try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

    Thank you very much, t-p. That worked. I switched the permalinks to default. Strangely, all my posts were then redirected to my home page. I then reset the permalinks back to ‘day and name’ and everything now works. Thanks again for your help, Normanb
