    Hi,

Me again, I’m having some issues with particular items working correctly with the shipping calculator, specifically a few items that I sell by the metre (https://ozupholsterysupplies.com.au/shop/upholstery-supplies/piping/cottoncut/)

The problem is, that if a customer is only wanting to buy 10m of cotton chord for example, it seems the measurements are too small to bring up a quote, and by increasing the dimensions of the product (per metre) it can then cause qoutes for say 30m to be way to expensive, when really, for orders of 1m – 100m, we would put them in the same size parcel.

I’ve checked out the box size option, but that seemed broken, and make every quote much more expensive.

It would be great if there were an option to either charge a flat rate for certain products, or an option where if no courier quotes were returned, a flat rate of $10 was used as a shipping charge.

Sorry if that is a bit confusing, let me know if I need to clarify

    Hi,

Is it inside the carton? Transdirect measures dimension length x width x height (in CM) and the weight (in KG) for a carton.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Not sure I follow,
The example product is Cotton piping, where we cut lengths off of the roll you can see in the picture. So 1-20 meters would be very small, too small to bring up any quotes for our selected couriers.

The product in woocommerce is called
    Cotton Piping – Cut length
and the quantity is 1m, at the moment I have the shipping dimensions as .1kg, 2cm x 2cm x 2cm (per 1 metre of piping), I need a way of saying either:
    – Cotton piping cut lengths measures 10cm x 10cm x 10xm regardless of quantity ordered

    or

if the dimensions are too small for X metres of Cotton Piping to bring up a quote in the calculator, then shipping will be charged at a flat rate of $10.

Sorry if i’m not explaining this well.

    EDIT:
There is an option in the Transdirect Shipping Plugin that is allows you to set a fixed price on error. If this could be changed to also be ‘fixed price upon no courier quotes returned’ that would be perfect

    HI,

I need to consult our operations on how to charge small items. But Transdirect needs to have items in a Box (Carton), Pallet, Tube, Satchel, Crate or Skid.

Please let me know if you have any questions

    Thanks

    Hi,

I ended up working around it by changing the item from ‘per metre’ to having different lenghts that were available (eg 5m, 10m, 20m), and just making their shipping dimensions 10 x 10 x 10cm and 1kg.
