When I run the bulk optimiser manually, it sometimes gives errors, but when I choose the scheduled option, I don’t know where those errors go – it’s not the standard WordPress logs 🙁

Where can I see the output and/or errors from scheduled optimisation?

    Hi Gal,

I double checked with Shane on this, he verified that the Scheduled Optimizer doesn’t explicitly log any errors, but optimization info would show up under Tools->EWWW IO->Show Optimized Images.
You could also enable debugging to have all detail put into the EWWW IO debug log, but that’s rather verbose.

    Hi Adam,

Unfortunately, I don’t see a quick way to find issues on that page. In fact, when I search for an image that had an imagick cache issue during a manual bulk optimisation, I only see the optimisation details, but no issues.

Does this mean the optimisation worked despite the problem?

Can you share some screenshots of what issues might look like?

Is the log also captured for manual bulk optimisation too?

    Thanks again.

If it’s showing up there then yes, it optimized. It won’t show up at all if there was an error. And again, that feature doesn’t show errors, it just shows that something was optimized.

For the debug log, yes it will work for bulk optimization as well. It logs everything so it can end up being quite large. We recommend using it in a limited capacity (like analyzing why one image isn’t being optimized).

OK, so I guess this is a request to log errors during bulk optimisation. Should I add a GitHub issue for it, or is this good enough?
