• I have been struggling with migrating a problem site for days until I heard about Migrate Guru.

I installed it on the ‘Source’ site and it ran smoothly. My Hosting company wasn’t listed in the preset hosts so I used FTP – probably a little more involved that using the predefined hosts.

After a few hiccups (and remembering that my host blocks all FTP access as a default) the migration started. The display was clear and actually gave a real-time update of the migration’s progress (no Microsoft Time here). Then, those last few tense seconds… (you know, the 99% Complete…MIGRATION FAILED that everyone’s experienced) but no, just a polite invitation to visit the migrated site and to review the product.

The new site was fine and worked perfectly so naturally, I’m delighted.

    Suggestions:
    * A mention at the outset that WordPress needs to be pre-installed on the target machine (obvious, but I missed it first time around)
    * A few help/information pop-ups on the migration configuration form would be useful
    * Being able to migrate to/from LOCALHOST would be WONDERFUL

But really, TOP MARKS guys & Gals!
