    HI,

I am trying to upgrade the plugin to the latest version. Have currently 5.2.7 and when I click on Update Now it tries to update and then says :

Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

Do I have to disable this plugin before upgrading it ?

I have no issues with file permissions as I have regular backups taking place etc. What do I have to look out for to allow me to upgrade this ?

    URGENT

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Kristin

    Hi @kristinubute,

I believe this is a warning generated by WordPress core telling you that some of the files in side wp-content/plugins/advanced-access-manager have permissions that deny PHP executable to delete them and replace with new version.

You would have to manually delete wp-content/plugins/advanced-access-manager folder and reinstall the AAM plugin.

    HI

Then I would have to recreate all the permissions again then I assume ?

That would be a bit of a pain

Is there much of a difference from the version I have to the new one ? When was the new one released ? Only recently I think

    Hi @kristinubute,

All AAM settings are stored in the database so if you delete files your settings will persist.
