Did you try going to Settings > Discussion from the admin dashboard and unchecking Allow people to post comments on new articles? This will take care of any new posts or pages that you create.
To turn them off comments on existing posts, go to Posts > All Posts, then mark the checkbox next to Title in order to select all of the posts which are listed, from the Bulk Actions drop-down, select Edit, and click the Apply button. A Bulk Edit dialog will appear. On the Comments drop-down, select Do not allow, then click the Update button. You can do the same for Pages as well.

For some reason, I don’t have a Discussion option under Settings.
I wound up adding a plugin that allows me to do it.

I downloaded Make tonight. I’m trying to turn off comments (on the whole site or, at least, on pages), but can’t seem to figure out how to do it.
Can someone help?
