Greetings and a good day to you!
This issue happened because of an older and unsupported version of PHP. The 7.2 and older versions of PHP is not being maintained by the core team anymore. WordPress itself is recommending to use 7.4 or later versions to ensure best security and performance features.
We are sorry that we have mistakenly removed support for older PHP versions. We have added that back and preparing to release it soon. But if possible, please contact your website hosting provider and request them to update the PHP version on your server to the latest version or PHP. At least 7.3 would be enough as it is being actively maintained.
Also, please keep your WordPress version up to date. Keep it at 5.7.3 or lower.
Hopefully doing these will solve the issue for you.
