No, that’s not a Pro feature; it should be there. Is it *just* the button that’s missing, but the rest of the metabox is present? Are you logged-in as an administrator? If you’re not logged-in as an administrator, have you checked whether the role you’re using has permission to post Tweets in the WP to Twitter settings?
Yes, logged in as Administrator. Regardless of permissions granted or not to lesser roles:
– Box is present; top left: Twitter symbol, bold WP to Twitter; top right open/close toggle
– Just below top left: Custom Twitter Post
– I can fill the box with text & the word counter works
– Below box, panel tab toggles Don’t Tweet Post/Tweet Post are operable
– Below them tabs Options (empty) & Notes (Tweets must be less than 140 characters; Twitter counts URLs as 22 or 23 characters. Template Tags: #url#, #title#, #post#, #category#, #date#, #modified#, #author#, #account#, #tags#, or #blog#, #longurl#.)
– Below them links Get Support & Go Premium
Everything is there and works except that there is no Tweet Now button to push to activate tweet text to be sent. From a screenshot, as I recall, it should be prominently top left in the whole metabox complex, right?
Is this on a new post, or one that’s already been published? The Tweet Now button should only be visible on a post that’s been published – only published posts can be Tweeted.
Ah, my apologies. You are correct. I feel completely stupid now. Having no previously untweeted posts, I was somehow under the impression, perhaps from something I misread, that the Tweet Now function allowed one to launch a new tweet itself, unrelated to any post, from within WordPress without having to log into Twitter. I suppose I never questioned why this function might be housed in the posting box rather than directly on the Dashboard.
Although I suppose one could conceivably use an already published post as the rough and ready dashboard base from which to do this…yes, you can, I just did: a standalone tweet unrelated to the post hosting the metabox.
Again, my apologies for misunderstanding how the plugin worked and consuming this time.
