I’m customizing the twenty eleven theme (and yes, I do have it set up as a child theme) πŸ™‚ for a friend. The site is http://www.aacollisionnetwork.com

He really really really wants the website to display full size when you view it on a mobile device and I’ve mostly accomplished that, except for the sidebar. Whenever I resize the browser window on my computer or view the site on a mobile device, the sidebar resizes and then kicks the widgets down to the bottom of the page. I’ve messed with the CSS til my eyes have turned red and I can’t get the widgets and the title to stick up at the top where they are supposed to be. Can anyone help me? I would REALLY appreciate it.

    Thanks!

as you are not using a child theme ‘per se’, but a renamed copy of the theme, you can edit the ‘responsive styles’ section near the end of style.css and remove those styles responsible for shifting the sidebar.

to help you identify which styles are involved, have a look into my recent article.

Ahah! Something is still slightly weird with it when I resize, but it is definitely much better and the sidebar actually stays there. I will mess with that some more. Thank you alchymyth!
