Actually I would like to ask question differently. First I installed Styles 1.0.18 and under appearance – customize it offers basic editing options. Than I also add it another plug in called Styles: Twenty Thirteen (my current theme) and description says that it will Add Customize options to the TwentyThirteen theme using the Styles plugin.

I can’t see all of those advanced options that your Demo for Twenty Thirteen shows. Can you please tell me what I’m doing wrong?

    thank-you

I just wanted to let you know that I figured out what the problem was. One’s I switched back from child theme to actual Twenty Thirteen everything worked. Can you guys be kind and let me know if I need to install code in Theme functions for stylist to work with Child theme?

    thank-you and I’m sorry 3 massages.

What child theme are you using? Styles should work for the child theme too, but if for some reason its not, or if you’re using a theme based on TwentyThirteen instead of a traditional child, you can force the Styles: TwentyThirteen plugin to work for the different theme by taking these steps:

    1. Rename the styles-twentythireen plugin folder so that “twentythirteen” matches the name of the child theme’s folder.
    2. Change the line Plugin Name: Styles: TwentyThirteen in styles-twentythirteen/plugin.php so that “TwentyThirteen” matches the name that comes after “Theme Name: ” in your plugin’s style.css file.
    3. Reactivate your renamed plugin.

Again, that’s not expected behavior… It should just auto-detect that it’s a 2013 child and apply the 2013 settings for you if you have both plugins active. Can you provide a link to your site with your child theme active so I can try to identify why the exception is needing to be made?

It looks like you did create a copy of TwentyThirteen, instead of a child. See http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Child_Themes — the example for how to create a child theme uses TwentyThirteen, so you can copy the code exactly.

If you migrate the theme to being a true child, the Styles plugin will detect that it’s TwentyThirteen automatically. If you don’t, you’ll just need to rename the plugin header and folder as I described, as if you were using a new them (which you are).

Hi there, I’m having the same problem. I am using a Twenty Thirteen child theme and the Styles plugin only offers basic options.

I don’t understand the instructions for renaming the plugin header and
folder. Can you give more info?

    Thanks!
