The following Twitter Feed classes lose their CSS text styles when embedded as short code inside a widget.

.uppercase (font-size is changed to smaller size and font-weight are changes from bold to normal)
.fts-twitter-text (font-size is change to smaller)

These “changes” doesn’t happen when embedded as “code” or text.

This is true, because generally widgets are in smaller areas. Just like in our demo, you can see the widget text is smaller than the feed in the content area. We’ll add an option to change the font-size on the Twitter Settings page next time we do another update. http://feedthemsocial.com/twitter-feed-demo/
