Hi @jacklinn,
Can you please confirm if you were able to set the image as instructed in this article? https://kb.yoast.com/kb/custom-twitter-tags/
Can you confirm if the same issue happens with Yoast SEO 9.1?
Also, please make sure the image meets the requirements for the card type. This article has a troubleshooting guide on what to check: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/twitter-sharing-not-working/
Closed due to lack of activity. If the issue persists, please create a new issue/thread.
Hello @jerparx,
I tried all the possibilities from my end to resolve this issues. Everything is fine in terms of image and twitter tags. Which you mentioned below URL. I checked with that also. still, the image is not showing on the twitter card.

The twitter:image tag defines this image which returns a 404 Not Found error.
Reviewing the source code of your page, it looks like you’re using a service to host images as the image URL is different for the main image on the page.
If this post was created prior to adding the service to host images, please remove and add the image again as the feature image and/or social image. This should reset the URL to the hosted URL.
If the post was created after the server or add/removing the image does not resolve the issue, please let us know what plugin/service your using for the CDN hosted images.
Hi @amboutwe,
In view page source twitter: image is showing like below URL. without CDN link. Still, it’s not taking the image in twitter card.
https://www.medicoreach.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/6-Tips-to-Help-Healthcare-Workers-Celebrate-Halloween-at-the-Hospital.jpg
I removed the feature image and added a new image again still, it’s not working.Yes, you are right. When I click on this URL its showing 404 error. Again if I reload the same URL then it’s showing an image. Actually, the image is not fetching at the first time. We are using “MaxCDN” service for this website. What is the issue? How to resolve this? How can I get the image in the Twitter card? Please let me know ASAP.
Thanks.
Hi Emlily,
Unfortunately, we could not provide you with instructions on how to fix this issue, as it’s not related to Yoast SEO.
If your server is not able to load the image on the first visit, then this is what Twitter’s crawler gets when it visits your website. This is something which your hosting provider should investigate, crawlers will not refresh a page to load its content.
You may also contact your CDN provider and ask them if they’ve experienced something similar.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
Hi MariusG,
I checked with CDN support team and resolved that issues. now the image is loading on the first visit. But still, twitter card is not taking the image. The image is not loading in the Twitter card. What is the issue?
Everything is fine from our end. but where are the exact issues?
https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
https://www.medicoreach.com/top-50-healthcare-workplace-2018/There is no error log here. Then why the image is not fetching
Log
INFO: Page fetched successfully
INFO: 29 metatags were found
INFO: twitter:card = summary_large_image tag found
INFO: Card loaded successfullyThanks.
Twitter’s validator doesn’t provide much information when images don’t work. Typically Facebook’s validator provides more information. In this case, Facebook returns this message:
Provided og:image URL, https://medicoreach-scz5ethg3gb4.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Top-50-Health-Systems-Hospital-and-Medical-Groups-to-Work-in-2018.jpg encountered an unknown error.
Checking the individual image URL instead of the post/page URL returns this message:
Error while downloading https://medicoreach-scz5ethg3gb4.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Top-50-Health-Systems-Hospital-and-Medical-Groups-to-Work-in-2018.jpg with HTTP response code: 404
So it seems something is still returning a 404 when Facebook (and likely Twitter) attempts to download the image.
We are going ahead and marking this issue as closed due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
