Hi, I am wondering if anyone else has been able to fix this issue. I have been doing testing on twitter to see how our pages are loading. It seems as though some of the required fields are not coming through. Such as twitter:description, twitter:title, and twitter:image.

I do see that you can set these fields globally from the open graph settings page, but I want each post/page to load the twitter card fields with unique information. The og: meta data seems to pull each meta type correctly, but twitter cards are still having issues.

Thanks in advance, if anyone has an idea. I appreciate it.

    Hi:

Are you using twitter developer tools to test this?

I came up with an issue where SEO Ultimate was populating Twitter card metadata only from the sitewide default values but Open Graph was using the site specific titles and descriptions. So it seems that there’s some irregularity on populating these fields (correct me if I’m wrong).

As Twitter uses Open Graph as a fallback for description, title and image metadata my solution was to unset the default values on Twitter card for these fields so I can get the site specific content to be shown on Twitter shares (information fetched from the OG fields). I guess this functionality could be intentional but I feel like it would be best if Twitter card metadata defaults values would be also overwritten by site specific metadata as it seems to be doing for Open Graph.

ps. Social media sites cache metadata information so it’s always best to test link shares with validators like the one that Jeffrey provided for Twitter.

Just letting you all know we have completely forked the code and spent 7 months rebuilding that module in the premium version of SEO Ultimate and added even more functionality for Twitter, G+, Facebook, etc. but not sure if we are going to do much with the free version…per our announcement after the launch or premium we are not adding new features only bugfixes.

The upgrade is worth it and you also get 1-on-1 support if something does happen and our team works on resolving that issue (now) as opposed to having to wait for the next update of the free.
