twitter-feeder.php must be UTF8 without BOM (fixed)

When activating the plugin I got the following error:

The plugin generated 3 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

This made sub-pages of my site white screen.

I was able to fix it by saving twitter-feeder.php as UTF8 (without BOM).

Has anyone else ran into this problem, and/or know if this is a legit fix?
