    Hi, everyone!

As you may already know, Twitter has recently updated their API and the rules that govern how third-party tools like Nelio Content can use it. This changes may result in temporary access limitations to Twitter. You’ll notice these limitations when Nelio reports a failed message with the “Request failed with code 429.”

We’re looking at all the options available to work out a solution for our Twitter users. Unfortunately, it looks like the only option is to upgrade to more expensive plans, which doesn’t align with our business model’s affordability.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding during this transition period. However, on a positive note, Nelio Content already supports 10 other social networks, including Mastodon (Twitter’s alternative).

    Best regards,
    Nelio Team

  • I’m getting this when I try to post to Twitter. Is this part of the problem or is it something that I’m doing wrong? I don’t get this with the FB or Mastodon posts and I’m sure I must be subscribed to Nelio to be able to post to them.

    Failed Social Message

Error! Due to Twitter rate limits, you can only publish on Twitter if you are subscribed to Nelio Content.

Yes, unfortunately that’s the issue we described in this thread. We tweak the error message to make it clearer to those uses who didn’t find this post.

Anyway, we’re still working on some compromise solutions. Stay tuned!

Thanks David. It is frustrating what Musk is doing to Twitter.

Are you working on a Threads option? I’ve registered for that and would like to use it in a similar way if possible.

Are you working on a Threads option?

No, not yet. Most of the work we’ve done is in our cloud to support advanced automation settings. We’re also looking at all the available options not to drop Twitter support and still be a useful tool with this network.

Once that’s done, we’ll take a look at our dev queue and see what comes next. But rest assured — we’ll keep working on and improving the plugin 😀

Are you working on a Threads option?

I just want to let you know that we checked and right now there is no public API from Meta to access Threads. In fact, Threads is still no publicly available outside of the US.

We are well aware of all the buzz regarding this new platform, but it seems there is nothing we can do right now. We’ll keep you posted.

We can get it in the UK but not in Europe. Mobile only at the moment although you can see your Thread via a desktop it’s not useable. Read only.

I was curious as to why we now had to subscribe for this feature to be enabled. Thanks for the post and information; shame it’s on Twitter’s end.

Embedded Twitter feeds have suddenly come back today. Will get a chance to see if I can actually post to it later this evening.

No. False alarm. Still not posting to Twitter
