Hello. We are doing some research for a replacement for our old brute force plugin and were looking into this plugin as a possible solution.

My primary question is about the Two-Factor authentication feature. Can this be turned off? We have usernames and passwords already set up and linked to other databases. Using a phone number to verify would not be possible.

Essentially, we just need the blocking features and need to know if we are able to select which features of the plugin to use once it is downloaded.

    Thanks

Yes, by default the two-factor authentication is not enabled. It is only available on the premium version, but even then, you can choose to enable it only for certain users. (You can find out more at wordfence.com or by emailing us at presales [at] wordfence.com if you have questions on premium features.)

Wordfence has a lot of options in the free version, and you can choose which ones are right for your site. A detailed list of the options is available here:
    Wordfence Options

Let us know if you have further questions on these options.
