I downloaded the plugin because my theme doesn’t support using the first image in a post as the thumbnail for the blog archive page. In the previous version of my sites theme I guess it did this automatically. Therefore I never used FEATURED IMAGES when creating a post. Now my archive blog page just shows the headline and some text without a photo. When I used the plugin to generate thumbnails for the archive page it scanned my posts and pulled in the first image and the blog archive pages looked great. It now has a thumbnail and text undernath.

HOWEVER now every individual post has two images. A large image above (which I assume is the featured image??) and then the embedded image in the post underneath then the headline and text.

Unless I misunderstood the functionality of this plugin I thought one of its functions was to generate thumbnails for the blog archive page based on the first image in a post. But it seems to also add a featured image to individual posts.

How do I get rid of this large image at the beginning of the post that is basically a duplicate of the first image in the post?
NOTE: I cant share the page because it’s in maintenance mode.

    Thank you,
    iso

  • Hi.

The plugin searches for images in the text and makes them featured. The display of featured images is handled by the theme.

This can usually be configured in the theme customizer or manually edited in the theme files.

    Thank you, that worked.
