• At the moment, I have WordPress installed in the domain.com/blog folder. The root level domain.com is a basic HTML website.

I’d like to turn the root domain.com to a WordPress website too and use the same theme there as the blog. However, I’m not sure what’s the best approach: 1) install a second copy of WordPress at the root level, or 2) migrate the WordPress install location so there is only one copy of WordPress.

I have hundreds of blog posts, so I would prefer not to do anything that affects the URLs of the blog posts. (Unless there is a simple redirect method. I only came across manual redirects while researching this, which would be tedious.)

What do you recommend? Can you point me to instructions? Are there any specific issues that I need to be aware of?

    Thanks so much!

  • In my recommendation you can first try to achieve that on test server if that works then you can implement it on your site.

For help you can refer to these to link Link1 and Link2

And yes forgot to tell WordPress does support this feature.

Hope this will be helpful to you

    Thank You
