type a code before being able to comment – for version 1.2.1

    I’m still using version 1.2.1, and it does everything I need and all my skins are for it, so I haven’t updated and don’t want to. However, I get a lot of spam comments. I’ve seen on a lot of wordpress journals where there’s a little code that you have to enter before you can post a comment, and I’d like to add that to mine. Is this possible without my upgrading?

    That’s a plugin. Look for antispam plugins in the repository and see whether they work on your blog.

    Note that even if a plugin says it works only on WP 2+, that just means that the author hasn’t tested it on earlier versions. Just try it and see whether it works.
