Uable to Restore

New Install of WP ver 3.5
BackWPup ver 2.1.17

Install and activate plugin
upload .sql file to root
Execute tools in BackWPUp
Plugin finds file and returns starts and completion status of restore.
The restored database does not appear in MySQL. Should it not?

Am I missing misunderstanding something?
