    I need help with overwritting the .htaccess manually. I wanted to use /tags/ instead of index.php?tag=tags

    I checked the options for URL rewriting under URL settings but i have no idea how to make my .htaccess rewritable. I chmod the folder 777, and i also tried to chmod .htaccess 777/666. Nothing happened.

    So i need help to make it rewritable… any help on what i should do to manually update it will be appreciated (i am a newbie at htaccess).

    UTW doesn’t change the .htaccess file. It doesn’t need to. That’s the old 1.5 WordPress way. The new WordPress 2.0 way leaves the .htaccess file the same no matter what.
