Unable to access admin panel

    Hello,

    I am unable to access the admin panel for my site. I have tried a few different URLs:

    • /admin
    • /login
    • /wp-admin.php
    • /wp-login.php

    All of these lead to a page with the following message:

    This feature is forbidden temporarily for security reason. Try login again.

    Here is the server info for my site:
    PHP version: 7.4.29
    System: Linux gator3229.hostgator.com 4.19.150-76.ELK.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Oct 7 01:34:10 CDT 2020 x86_64
    Build Date: Apr 20 2022 00:15:14
    Server API: LiteSpeed V8.0.1
    Apache Version: Not 100% sure, but I believe it’s 2.4.x

    Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can resolve this issue?

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    check web server logs for error
    look like hacked site
    try ro restore site from backup,
    or compare site files with backup copy

    I located a troubleshooting article from HostGator and was able to diagnose and resolve the issue. There was a security plugin blocking access to the login page.
