• When I log into my back end admin, I get the following error message

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/pa/rr/sp/parrspriory.org.uk/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 668

This message appeared after I tried to update to the latest wordpress version, which I thought had installed correctly.

I have no idea what to do next to get back to the admin. Please help.

    Thanks, James

  • I remember reading some issues with that particular error recently. It looks like there might be some similar discussions in the forums.

I’m thinking the solution may possibly involve a manual re-install, but I’ll let you be the judge.

Link goes to Google, but the results are all from forum discussions.

    Thanks Clayton.

I have reinstalled and get the error message along bottom of site

‘Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/pa/rr/sp/parrspriory.org.uk/public_html/wp-content/themes/responsive/footer.php on line 1

Warning: file_get_contents(http://speedclick.info/app/a.php?c=a&s=www.parrspriory.org.uk&i=82.28.211.148) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/pa/rr/sp/parrspriory.org.uk/public_html/wp-content/themes/responsive/footer.php on line 1′

The footer.php file exists in the directory, so not sure why this error would occur.

Do you think it is something that I should take up with 123 hosting or is it likely to be an issue with the wordpress theme creator?

Or am I doing something else wrong?

You can see the error at http://www.parrspriory.org.uk, at the foot of the page (obviously)
