Unable to Activate Plugin

The install goes fine but when I go to active it says it was successful although the plugin still shows that it needs activating. I’m also not seeing plugin settings anywhere i.e. the admin toolbar, wp settings menu or the plugin page. Are there any known incompatibilities with other plugins or themes (using Avada theme), that may cause this behavior? Thanks!

Turns out if you have Contact Form 7 installed your plugin won’t activate. Clever.
