Unable to create post

I have created a user role and gave access to admin dashboard with capabilities of creating post, but the dashboard is not showing to the user with that role, even though i have given access to dashboard with capabilities related to posts like create post, delete post, edit post, etc. Though it is showing the wp-admin header but not the sidebar. In the wp-admin header if someone clicks on add post instead of opening create post page it redirects to the homepage of website.
