Unable to insert unsynced patterns in posts (WordPress 7)

    Since the WordPress 7 update, I think, we are unable to insert unsynced patterns into posts. I made several patterns synced and unsynced. But since the latest WordPress 7 update, when I click on an unsynced pattern from the block choices, it won’t react, like it’s frozen.

    From what I read, WordPress 7 changes how unsynced patterns function. But even disabling this in the functions.php, the unsynced patterns are still not selectable to insert in a post. I am at a loss as to why or how to fix this. These unsynced patterns need to be unsynced and are not suitable for syncing.

    Hey @daricedotorg,

    I tested with these conditions in a fresh install: created an unsynced pattern while in WP 6.9, successfully inserted the pattern in a post, upgraded to WP 7.0, and successfully inserted the pattern in a new post.

    Does this issue only happen with unsynced patterns, or with synced patterns as well? Could you please check whether you see any errors in the DevTools console when inserting the pattern?

    The likely culprit could also be the plugins and the theme you are currently using. Have you tried deactivating your plugins and switching to a default (twentytwenty*) theme, and inserting the pattern afterward? If this works, activate the plugins one after the other while inserting the pattern until you find the conflicting plugin/theme. Setting up a staging site will help with testing this step while your main site remains unaffected. Check with your hosting provider if they could help you set up the staging site, or you could use this plugin https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-staging/

    Finally, could also share the name of the theme you are using in your next response?
