Unable to locate geoIP database

    I have downloaded the latest version of the plugin and installed on my WP site, and I have placed the GeoLite2-Country.mmdb file in the /var/www/html/wp-content/uploads directory on my server. When I activate the plugin it says that it cannot find the database at that path.

    I have the correct ownership and permissions on the file (assuming that 644 is adequate).
    I’ve verified that the “upload_path” variable in the database is not pointing to another location. (the value is actually blank)
    I haven’t found anything of use in the logs as of yet.

    I’ve also tried an older version of the geoip database file as a test.

    Suggestions?
